We may use copyrighted photos without our knowledge, which means that we may not use or modify them without permission. Unfortunately, many times the author of an image – or their legal representative – will ask an unauthorized user of the image to remove the photo. Serious legal disputes and fines are worth avoiding.
We can entrust someone with photography or we can photograph ourselves, but if we don’t have such ambitions, online photo banks still provide a good opportunity. What’s more, in addition to the well-known paid solutions (Shutterstock, Dreamstime, 123RF, etc.), there are plenty of free and, more importantly, legitimate photos to download.
