About Catleen

I’m Krisztina, known in the cosplay world as CatleenCosplay. Originally from Hungary, I now call Albstadt, Germany, my home. My journey as a cosplayer and crafter began in 2012, and since then, I’ve been crafting costumes and props inspired by games, anime, movies, and TV series. To date, I’ve brought to life over a hundred unique costumes!

Cosplay has opened up incredible opportunities for me. I’ve had the honor of being a guest and a judge at various conventions, as well as being featured in interviews on TV, radio, and in several international magazines. I’ve also had the privilege of collaborating with renowned companies like Givenchy, The Body Shop, and Lalalab.

My love for cosplay has continued to grow over the years, despite the challenges of moving to Germany, where I had the chance to participate in international events. Soon, with the establishment of my own workshop, I’ll have the capacity to create even more costumes, not only for myself but also for clients.

Encouraged by my husband, Lord Halgor, I’ve started creating blueprints to assist fellow cosplayers in bringing their designs to life and writing articles to inspire others.

Cosplay has been my passion for over a decade, and I’m eager to share my experiences with others. I believe that by coming together, we can not only enjoy our shared hobby but also learn from each other’s journeys.

My Journey in Cosplay: From Organizer to Educator

I have been an active member of the cosplay and geek community for many years, contributing in various roles as an event organizer, performer, writer, and judge.

In the past, I was one of the organizers of Hungarocon and Timepass, two major cosplay and geek events in Hungary. I also participated in multiple roundtable discussions at MondoCon, where I shared my insights on cosplay culture, industry trends, and crafting techniques. Additionally, I performed on stage at PlayIT, one of Hungary’s largest gaming and pop culture conventions.

Beyond events, I am a co-founder of Living Dream Project, a cosplay organization dedicated to supporting and inspiring the community. I have worked with numerous talented photographers over the years, including Super Studio 8, Thanior Pictures, SCHTamas, Vixen, Heniko Photography, Bloo, and North Magic Kingdom, capturing the art of cosplay through stunning photography.

I also founded the Hungarian Cospix Community, an initiative that brought together cosplayers and photographers across Hungary, fostering collaboration and growth within the community. For several years, I had the honor of serving as a cosplay competition judge, evaluating craftsmanship and performance at various events.

My passion for cosplay goes beyond performanceβ€”I am also dedicated to educating and supporting fellow cosplayers. I have written numerous articles for Mondo Magazin on cosplay and crafting techniques. Additionally, I have authored cosplay books that help cosplayers navigate social media, marketing, GDPR regulations, and cybersecurity, ensuring they can grow their brand while staying safe online.

Cosplay is not just a hobby for meβ€”it’s a lifelong passion that I continue to share with the community through my experiences, knowledge, and creativity.

Here are some Interesting Tidbits about Me

I came into this world on April 12th, and my absolute favorite cuisine is sushi. Believe it or not, I’m still an avid PokΓ©mon Go player, proudly representing Team Valor. One of my all-time cherished series is Firefly, and I’m a true Browncoat through and through.

As for my furry and scaly friends, I’ve had the pleasure of sharing my life with two cats, two turtles, and a multitude of fish. Life has its quirks, and I embrace themβ€”like my ADHD, which can be both fascinating and challenging, occasionally giving me a hyperfocus boost, especially in the cosplay world.

Academically, I hold two degreesβ€”one in Economics and Marketing, and another in Ancient History and Writing. I’m also a polyglot, fluent in two languages: Hungarian and English, and learning German and Spanish.

Speaking of my cosplay journey, I have an unabashed love for acquiring materials, from textiles to patterns. The only downside? Finding proper storage solutions for all these treasures can be quite an adventure!
